I'm a member of zip.ca and so I have a big list of films on that site for them to mail to me. Hundreds actually. So often when I get a film in the mail from them I don't remember why I asked for it. This one, being a Criterion narrows it down. But I still don't know why. I'm always interested in crime films - especially older ones as they're usually a good story to draw from for inspiration. I found this one to be a little... dry. Nothing against it but I found myself disengaging and getting a little bored with it. Some nice moments but altogether underwhelming.
