1150 - Degressi Junior High: season three

This show gets better and better which each season. What started off as complete melodrama has actually turned into an interesting story. The beauty of this show is that it was the first of it's kind aimed at teens to not shy away from controversial issues. My favorite part of this season is Joey and Caitlin, who I know are the on-going tragic love story of the whole Degrassi series. I look forward to the rest of these old shows, and will probably start watching the next generation when I'm done with these...

1107 - Degrassi Junior High - season two

This show has grown on me. I love things that have big lives and this show definitely does. I love how characters come and go, much like real life, how they grow, re-invent themselves, etc... The acting isn't great, but the kids are getting better that's for sure. I need to watch the whole cannon of this series. A friend of mine is cutting the current season, must be an interesting thing to work on. Only one more season left in our collection and then I'll have to break down and buy the High series, then the next generation...

1079 - Degrassi Junior High: season one

I think I saw this show when I was younger, I remember the faces for sure, but that's about it. Emily's big into it, so I'm watching it with her. Gotta be honest, it's growing on me. Now to be fair, these are all real kids, not actors (not at the beginning) and so a certain amount of forgiveness must be given for certain performances. That aside, along with some really cheesy scenarios, which you have to expect in a melo-drama, it's a pretty unique show, especially when you consider that no one else was really talking about a lot of these issues in teenager's programming.
I love the ensemble feel and how you drift in and out of these kids lives, and how even though we learn more about some of them, the other kids are still oblivious to just how much is going on with them. I need to break from the show, but I'm looking forward to the second season.
