You can discover a lot of little gems when you give in to the foreign films at TIFF. I'm always torn between trying to see some of the bigger American films, but wisely my wife knows that in the end we'll always feel better about watching films that we'd probably never get a chance to otherwise. In a way it's a modern Romeo and Juliet really, not to say that's how these two characters turn out, however you get a sense that they're living their lives to their fullest now because something in them tells them that this might just be it. The two young actors are really phenomenal and Maria Deschamps absolutely won me over. It's hard to believe that this is her first film. What a lovely entry point. A light drama with some great characters and delicious little situations. An enjoyable film through and through.
